Female Solo Pediatric Practices of 2016
December 1, 2016 | Frontline Stories
At The Verden Group, we assist many physicians with starting their new practices. Our favorites are the independent female pediatricians who decide to break out and create practices THEIR way. Here are some of the latest, greatest, female solo pediatricians to launch this year. Congratulations to you all and many successful years ahead!
Irma Tackie, MD
Goldstar Pediatrics • Fontana, CA
Dr. Tackie knew that she wanted to have a practice that allowed adequate time to properly take care for her patients, and to offer the services and have the relationships in place to effectively coordinate care when patient needs extended beyond the scope of her practice. This led her to create Goldstar Pediatrics, a practice where providing comprehensive – not fragmented – care is at the core of what she offers.
Already a 5-star rated physician on Healthgrades, Yelp and Facebook, Dr. Tackie has created a welcoming, beautiful space where even her littlest patients feel safe and happy to be there. This is important to her, and not just because she used to be afraid of her own pediatrician when she was a kid! (you can hear her talk about this here). She understands that trusted relationships are the foundation for families to work together with their doctor to raise happy, healthy children, and makes it her mission to establish that bond right from the beginning. Helping new parents to feel confident with their newborns starts with free prenatal visits, and continues with lactation support at the practice. And she specializes in teenage care too, making sure that adolescents feel as comfortable with her as the toddlers do.

Alethea Allen, MD
Grace Point Pediatrics • Winchester, VA
Dr. Allen’s vision started with asking “is it possible to provide compassionate, convenient, child-centered, contemporary care for children from birth through college? Her new solo practice, Grace Point Pediatrics, is Dr. Allen’s way of saying, “Yes, it is!” She believes in community and wanted to find a way to best serve the families in her own neighborhood, being the local pediatrician to families that are her neighbors and to the children that her own kids go to school with down the street from her office. She also cares deeply about the challenges presented by the transition from adolescent to adult and wanted a way to be able to provide care and guidance for older kids too, right through college.
In addition to offering a beautiful space for her patients to visit, her practice is designed to meet the access needs of her patients and families too, by providing early morning walk in hours, newborn home visits and allowing plenty of time during visits to provide the level of support that is missing from busy practices today.
You can read more about her practice here, visit her website here, and her Facebook page here.
